This week I played around the aperture and the depth of field. I baked a cake and used it as my subject to capture shallow and deep depths of fields. By increasing the F-stop, I was able to keep most of the background in focus, but by decreasing the F-stop, I was able to create a shallow depth of field with the background out of focus.
Deep Depth
“The Ingredients” – 5/10/19 – 5:25 pm – The Cedars
25 mm – f/3.8 – 4.0 sec – ISO 100 – Canon – Light Kit
“It’s a piece of cake” – 5/10/19 – 5:59 pm – The Cedars
18 mm – f/5.6 – 1/8 sec – ISO 200 – Canon
Shallow Depth
“Icing” – 05/10/19 – 6:00 pm – The Cedars
44 mm – f/5 – 1/6 sec – ISO 200 – Canon
“Sprinkles” – 05/10/19 – 5:16 pm – The Cedars
60 mm – f/5 – 1/6 sec – ISO 100 – Canon

What a great subject! I love how you are able to show such shallow depth of field. Great post, you really have an understanding of this subject!
